If you do need to transport a mini excavator yourself (for example, if you own a machine), the process involves: (1) ensuring the trailer has sufficient capacity for the machine's weight, (2) driving the excavator up the trailer ramps with the bucket lowered for stability, (3) positioning the machine centrally on the trailer, (4) lowering the bucket to the trailer deck, (5) engaging the slew lock, and (6) securing with chains through the tie-down points. Mini excavators require a trailer rated for their operating weight — a 1.7T excavator requires a trailer rated for at least 2,000kg.
