What is the difference between a mini excavator and a standard excavator?

Mini excavators (under 3 tonnes) are compact, rubber-tracked machines designed for tight access residential work. They can fit through standard gates and cause minimal ground disturbance. Standard excavators (3.5T and above) are heavier, more powerful machines suited for commercial and civil work with greater digging depth and bucket capacity.
