What size excavator do I need for a pool excavation?

For a standard residential pool, a 1.7T mini excavator is the most commonly used machine. It provides sufficient power for most soil types while remaining compact enough for residential access. For larger pools or harder ground, a 3.5T excavator may be required. A mini dumper is also recommended for removing excavated soil from tight access sites.
